5 Amazing Proposals That Will Melt your Heart

5 Amazing Proposals That Will Melt your Heart

Some proposal stories sound too good to be true, but a look at the photos capturing these precious moments proves that romance is far from dead. Here are some amazing proposal stories shared on The Knot’s sister site, How He Asked.

Bookstore magic

“We got to Oxford Exchange (our favourite brunch spot) and entered through the book store. We usually peruse before sitting down and this time was no different. We approached the first table of books and John pointed out a book that apparently was read to him as a child. He was super excited and surprised they had this book, and asked me to read it to him, ‘The Bears Search’.

I opened to the first page and noticed one of the characters had the same nickname he uses for me. Still I wasn’t suspicious. As I read on, I began to realize it was our story and not a book from his childhood at all. The Spotify playlists, the lunch breaks, the weekend trips, our travels to Europe, and even moving in together; it was all here in these pages. With that realization, I think I blacked out.” Read more

In nature’s heart

“We planned a 17km mountain trail run for Saturday morning. We pulled up to the trailhead, stretched, and we were off with Kristian in the lead (just in case there were any bears on the trail!). About 100m into the run, I see a bouquet of flowers on the ground and around the corner, a photographer. I just figured it was a tourist as there are lots in that area, and for the flowers, well, for a split second I actually thought I was running into someone else’s proposal! Kristian picked up the bouquet turned to me – and then I realised, this was MY proposal!” Read more

A beautiful climb

“We were rock climbing at our favourite place. It’s something we do all the time, so it was a very inconspicuous activity and I was not expecting a proposal AT ALL. At about 10:55pm I was tired and getting ready to head home. Luis insisted that I just climb one more route. I agreed, and up the route I went.

When I got to the top, Luis yells ‘Are you at the top?’ Way louder than we would have needed to for just me to hear him. As soon as he yelled that, all of the lights in the whole place shut off. My initial thoughts were that the power went out, but then I started to see people bustling around on the ground below me while Luis held me at the top of the climb. I immediately started crying/laughing. I could not believe this was happening.” Read more

Picture perfect

“After five hours, we got to the top and waited our turn to take a photo on the famous Trolltunga cliff. Danny told me to go on the rock so that he could focus the camera. He set up his intervalometer and ran down to join me. I was out the ledge in complete awe of the fjords and glaciers that we were overlooking. I could tell Danny was nervous but I thought it was just because we were on a 10,000 year old rock formation. He let me know that the timer was ready and we could start taking photos. I replied, ‘oh my gosh, we didn't talk about what poses we should do yet’ as many people do crazy things on the edge of the cliff. He replied, ‘How about this one?’ as I turned around to see him down on one knee.”

All in a day

“As we walk over to a scenic viewing area with a huge wooden deck, Zach cannot hold in the anticipation and almost immediately drops to one knee. ‘Catie Winona Bossard… will you marry me?’ I am pretty sure I said ‘Yes’ before he could even finish. He then told me ‘Everyone is here but I have a second question for you.’ I look up and see his family and a few friends come running down to celebrate.

Then he says… ‘Would you want to marry me today? Everything is set up. Your dress, plans and EVERYONE is here.’ As I turn around I see my mom, sister, best friends, aunt and uncle come running to greet us. Everyone is still waiting for my answer but I am still unsure of the question. ‘Catie, do you want to get married today? I have everything ready to go in about 3 hours.’ I am quickly trying to process exactly what is happening. My answer… ‘Yes. Let’s do it!’” Read more
