Health Minister Chris Fearne today answered questions related to the fate of summer weddings and insisted that despite Malta's state of public health emergency being lifted, social distancing guidelines will remain in place.

The Prime Minister announced yesterday that he would be lifting the 75-person restriction on mass events, leading several local brides to wonder whether they had done the right thing to postpone their wedding.

However, Minister Fearne today said that: "Social distancing is still important so we recommend that you avoid large crowds. But this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t live."

“Our recommendations for social distancing remain. We must keep vigilant,” the Health Minister insisted.
