Featured Bridal Designer: Vera Wang
OurWedding chats to Rosemary and Hannah Camilleri of Camilleri Paris Mode to find out more about their stunning collection of dresses by world-renowned designer Vera Wang.
American designer Vera Wang is celebrated for her fashion-forward aesthetic, and has styled a slew of famous brides including Victoria Beckham for her 1999 wedding to David Beckham, entrepreneur Ivanka Trump, Chelsea Clinton and Mariah Carey for her 1993 nuptials to Tommy Mottola. She is every fashionista’s favourite bridal designer, and a range of her collection can be found at Camilleri Paris Mode.
“Vera Wang is known for balancing modern designs with traditional elegance. She is arguably the most prominent designer of bridal wear in the world,” say Hannah and Rosemary Camilleri. “She has transformed the industry of wedding dresses, upgrading an outdated, busy look to a more modern, chic and organised design.”
Her choice of fabric for every gown greatly depends on the type of construction, whether structured or soft. “When structured, she uses duchesse satin, silk taffeta, silk tulle and silk faille. When a soft construction is preferred, she uses silk crepe, georgettes, jersey cotton, silk and strictly illusion.”
Hannah and Rosemary say that the bride who wears Vera Wang is one who conveys a distinct confidence and unyielding devotion to style. “She is also a woman who likes to intrigue others by inspiring an aura of curiosity. As Vera Wang would say: “Imagine all the complexity of human emotion at crossroads of fantasy and reality, then add considerations of tradition, sensuality and fashion captured all in one dress. It isn’t easy”.”
