6 Hot Autumn Beauty Trends You Can Take To A Wedding

As we go from flimsy frocks to thick, comfy sweaters, our summer-to-autumn wardrobes bear the brunt of the seasonal change. However, our beauty boxes feel the difference too: here are six big autumn beauty trends which are great for weddings, honeymoons and everything in between.

Warm metallic shades

This autumn we’re putting away our bronzing brushes and restricting the warm tones to our eyes. Gold and silver are perennial staples for metallic shades, but bronze is set to be huge this season.

Bold lips

Dark, rich, 90s goth colours are on trend again for lips, with tones ranging from berry to velvety plum. It’s not the most conventional look for a wedding, but if it works for bride-to-be Sofia Vergara, who has sworn off ‘boring’ nudes and is going for a bold lip in her upcoming nuptials to Joe Mangianello, it’s good enough for us.

Dewy skin

You know that scene in Pride and Prejudice where Mr Darcy sees Elizabeth after she hiked a ridiculously long way to visit her sister and he basically has to grab a table to stop himself from falling over? That’s the look we’re going for. Smooth, fresh-looking skin is always in style, but the trend for autumn is healthy skin that looks like it’s just been lightly splashed with woodland dew after a really invigorating walk in the woods.

Messy hair

Summer may be gone but we’re not giving back the fun, beachy, textured waves. This is a perfect complement for more intense, high-key looks, such as the bold lip.

Slept-in eyes

Smudgy, angular, wonky – fall runway looks were dominated by eyeliner gone wild. Keep the top lid tidy, but use a finger on the bottom lashes to make a statement look that’s not attention-seeking. Actually sleeping with your makeup on is definitely not advised.

A touch of glitter

Even this autumn’s relatively low-maintenance looks aren’t immune to the lure of glitter, and are all the better for it. Use sparkle as an accent, rather than as the centrepiece of your look, and you’ll be golden.
