5 Times An Ordinary Wedding Was Gatecrashed By A Celebrity
If you had to choose a celebrity to come to your wedding, who would it be?
Celebrities are just like us – they love a good wedding celebration! Here are five times some super high-profile folks made an unexpected appearance at a wedding where nobody expected them to show up.
Maroon 5
Crashing a bunch of weddings is the theme of Maroon 5’s music video for "Sugar” – and the best part is all of those were real weddings! The band teamed up with David Dobkin, who directed the comedy classic Wedding Crashers, and made sure each of the grooms knew before they appeared at the venues. Needless to say, most of the couples were thrilled! "I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests,” said lead singer Adam Levine. “Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all."
Beyoncé
Beyoncé was on holiday with her husband Jay-Z in Portofino, Italy in September 2014 when she inadvertently crashed an unsuspecting couple's wedding by wandering into a local church. Mrs Carter-Knowles happily posed for photos with the bride, who seemed more than delighted to have her wedding interrupted by an international superstar.
Tom Hanks
What would you do if Forrest Gump photobombed your wedding photos? Newlyweds Elisabeth and Ryan Barclay got the photobomb of a lifetime in September 2016 when Hanks himself stumbled upon their post-ceremony Central Park photo session, stopping to wish them well. The couple’s quick-acting photographer captured some hilarious snaps of the trio on Instagram.
Justin Bieber
Justin and his then- (and possibly also now-) girlfriend Selena Gomez were out for a walk on the beach in Malibu when they came across a wedding reception that was bumping Justin’s hit song "One Less Lonely Girl" so of course, he had to make a personal appearance. The Biebs made a speech and posed for pictures before leaving.
Queen Elizabeth II
John and Frances Canning had jokingly sent an invitation for their March 2012 wedding to Buckingham Palace but they certainly weren’t expecting the Queen to turn up! Her Majesty met briefly with the couple and then continued with her work schedule for the day. Not a wedding crasher by any means, but still a huge surprise, so we’ll allow it.
