2016 Wedding Ring Trends

Engagement rings get all the love but what about wedding rings? OurWedding looks at the latest trends in wedding ring styles.

BANDS WITH COLOURED GEMS

If you want your wedding ring to stand out from the rest of the crowd, why not opt for a ring with a colourful gemstone? You can either opt for the stone with correlates with your month, or simply pick a precious stone whose colour you like and which you can see yourself wearing every day.

PAVÉ – BLING WITHOUT BEING OTT

A pavé setting is made up of lots of small gemstones set closely together and held in place by little beads of the setting's metal. The end result looks like a continuous surface of gems. Pavé details are a very tasteful way of incorporating some bling into the ring without looking too flashy or making your ring unsuitable to wear on a daily basis.

MIXED METALS

Why have a wedding ring made out of one metal when you can have lots of different ones? Whether it’s gold and silver, silver and rose gold, or rose gold and white gold, the combinations are determined only by your personal preference. BONUS: A stackable wedding ring is a sweet way to go about this trend and additional rings can be added on with each passing anniversary or celebration.

VINTAGE BANDS

Our thirst for all things retro and vintage is insatiable and this goes for vintage-style wedding bands too. The elegant details are hard to resist and they’re just so pretty! They’re extra special if they’re real vintage family heirlooms which have been passed down over generations.

ALTERNATIVE METALS

There’s no law that says you have to go for gold, silver or platinum for your wedding bands, and if you lead a very active lifestyle, or one where your hands are exposed to a lot of wear and tear, an alternative metal such as stylish and super durable black tungsten might be a wiser idea. No need to take off your wedding ring each time you set out to do something adventurous – the ring is as ready as you are!
