We’re heartbroken to share that model Gigi Hadid and singer Zayn Malik have officially announced their break-up.

This comes at a very tumultuous time for the pair…

Only last week, Gigi’s 57-year-old mother, Yolanda, accused Zayn of striking her. The 28-year-old singer has since denied these allegations.

“As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart,” Zayn wrote on Twitter.

“In an effort to protect that space for her I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago,” he continued.

Gigi and Zayn had been dating on-and-off since 2015. They welcomed their daughter Khai last year.

“This was and still should be a private matter, but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner she deserved, this has been ‘leaded’ to the press,” the singer added.

“I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves,” he concluded.

The couple has been known to prioritise the privacy of their 13-month-old baby and their relationship.

Zayn and Gigi first sparked romance rumours when they attended the 2015 American Music Awards after-party together.

Their relationship became official in 2016, following Gigi’s iconic performance in her boyfriend’s ‘PillowTalk’ music video.

The two broke up for the first time in 2018, after dating for nearly two years.

In January 2020, Gigi and Zayn were once again spotted together. Three months later, the couple confirmed that they were expecting their first child.
