The 12th of October marks a very special day for Dr Lynn Chircop Faure and her family – the day her beloved parents tied the knot back in 1974.
‘51 years have passed since that day!’ she wrote in a touching post on social media, sharing her admiration for the couple’s enduring love. Lynn reflected on how, since her own wedding in 2003, she has come to truly understand the deep meaning behind the words spoken during a marriage ceremony.
Her parents, like thousands of Maltese and Gozitan grandparents, celebrate this meaningful date with even greater joy since 2013 – the year Malta proclaimed this day as Grandparents’ Day, officially celebrated every second Sunday of October across the Maltese Islands.
It’s a day that honours not only their union as husband and wife, but also the love, care, and wisdom they continue to share as parents and grandparents.
‘Let’s keep celebrating with them,’ Lynn expressed warmly, sending heartfelt wishes to all grandparents across Malta and Gozo on this special occasion. ‘On behalf of all grandchildren, we wish a beautiful Grandparents’ Day to every Maltese and Gozitan nannu and nanna.’
Here’s to love that lasts a lifetime!
