Malta’s Carnival is always a blast to experience, but this year, the capital set the scene for an extra special turn of events. Carnival dancers Yanika Micallef and Brendan Farrugia will undoubtedly remember this year’s Carnival for years to come – as they got engaged mid-dance!
Brendan reportedly stopped dancing and proposed to Yanika in front of all the dancers and in full costume. TVM spoke to the couple just moments after. “I’m so happy and I totally wasn’t expecting this,” Yanika shared.
“We’ve been trying since September,” Brendan says. “I have no idea how I managed to keep it secret so she wouldn’t realise but we managed. Thank you to everyone, so much.”
