Reilly Jennings, 28, and Amanda Wheeler, 38, got married on Friday as their friend Matt Wilson officiated their nuptials from his fourth-floor apartment window down in Manhattan. The couple were set to get hitched in October but with all the restrictions being imposed and the gym where Wheeler works being closed, they were worried about the cost of the wedding because of the Coronavirus.

They obtained their marriage licence and were about to head down to the Marriage Bureau when it was announced the service will be closing until further notice. They tried contacting their friends and discovered that Wilson was certified. He gladly agreed.

The couple said ‘I do’ on the street, with neighbours watching from their windows and a few friends at a safe distance.

“The most perfectly New York moment amidst a crazy time,” said Reilly Jennings in a post of social media. “It was perfect, classic New York. Everything I love about this city was encompassed in that moment,” Jennings told NBC News.
