This old footage of Lady Diana playing with her kids in a yard is having us feeling all nostalgic. The clip dates back to 1986 when Prince William was four years old and Prince Harry was two years old and are playing in the garden at Highgrove House.

“The Princess’ own sleepless nights are getting fewer as the royal children grow up,” the narrator starts off. The video features Prince Harry and Prince William playing in a yard, wearing military outfits which were gifts from the families of the first battalion of the parachute regiment of which the Prince of Wales (their father) is Colonel in Chief.

“Prince William is an energetic child. His parents think no more so than any other four-year-old only the exploits of this one make newspaper headlines,” the narrator says. The princess carries her youngest, while the energetic four-year-old climbs up the jungle gym, nearly taking a fall, but quickly catches himself.

The narrator notes that the young boys get on pretty well together. “Prince Harry is less extrovert, but like Prince William he’s a keen para, and he’s getting into training looking after his uniform.”

“Their mother is pleased by the way they play together,” the narrator says, later going on to share a tactic of Lady Di to keep William in line. “Alright, Harry will have all the fun, then,” she says, to which William screams a hearty “No!” and runs after his mother and brother.
