1. Go diving
While those of us in Malta are exceedingly lucky when it comes to stellar diving spots, Hawaii offers a diverse ecosystem, miles away from the Mediterranean, allowing you to experience the sea as you never have before.
2. Kiss under a waterfall
The ultimate in romance, kissing underneath a raging waterfall does allow you to take some great pics. So, get down and wet into that snog – sharpish!
3. Swim in an infinity pool
Glorious sunshine definitely lends itself to long days lounging – and bathing – in an infinity pool, overlooking the ocean. Now, where’s our cocktail?
4. Turtle-watch
We’re big fans of these sea creatures. And, five of the world’s seven species of turtle have made Hawaii their home, giving you the perfect opportunity to witness their majesty.
5. Capture memories on the beach
Dramatic seascapes? Check. Craggily rocks or long stretches of sand? Check and check. Make sure you have a camera with you (and ask a friendly passer-by) to immortalise these memories in a picture.
6. Ride tandem
Hawaii has placed environmental sustainability at the heart of everything they do. Ride tandem around the city centres, along the beach fronts or in the hills and see the islands close-up and personal.
7. Watch the sun set
The crimson sky above Hawaii has been immortalised in thousands of pictures, so you absolutely cannot leave without sitting down, with your loved one, and watch time go by.
8. Greet like a local
Have you always wanted to say that magic word? Aloha is world-famous in a way few greetings are (and this is probably, thanks to many American TV series from the ‘80s). It’s not difficult to pronounce and locals will certainly encourage the word’s use!
9. Try a poke bowl
No list would be complete without a mention of the fresh food and seafood Hawaii has to offer. The poke bowl – a Native Hawaiian delicacy consisting of raw fish, fruit and vegetables – is healthy and refreshing. Our stomachs are rumbling already!
10. Hop on a private plane around the islands
What better way to experience the islands than in a private plane? Fly over Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, and Hawaii Island (the Big Island), and take a look at this spectacular group of islands from high above.
