Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva are expecting! The couple, who tied the knot last April, will be welcoming their first child together towards the beginning of next year.
The Hollywood veteran, 69, and his Spanish wife, 35, both have children from previous relationships, but this child will be their first together.
Hello! reports that the couple met in Positano, Italy in 2014 while Richard was staying in Alejandra’s family’s hotel. The actor reportedly wooed his future-wife by sending her flowers every day until she agreed to go on a date with him.
Their fairy-tale romance blossomed and Alejandra moved to New York and converted to Buddhism to be with the actor. They married on Richard Gere’s ranch outside New York last Spring.
Just yesterday, Alejandra posted a photo on Instagram getting her baby bump blessed by the Dalai Lama. “A very special moment just a few minutes ago,” she wrote. “Getting blessings for our precious to come… we couldn’t say it before telling HH Dalai Lama.”
