Last night was date night for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! The royals attended the European premiere of The Lion King in London at the Odeon Theatre and looked stunning in matching black outfits as they greeted the crowds of fans gathered outside the theatre.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle met with various creatives and cast members from the film, including Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z. Some fans have even dubbed this as a meeting of royalty. The singer embraced the Duchess, before describing their new-born son Archie as “so beautiful”, adding that she and her husband “love” the couple.
During her first film premiere as a royal, Meghan was gifted a bouquet, a book, and a cuddly Simba toy for Archie by Evie Chambers and Valentina Walker, both 12, whose parents are associated with Disney.
The Lion King appears to be more than just a film for the royal couple. The Walt Disney Company announced #ProtectThePride, “a global conservation campaign to support efforts protecting the rapidly diminishing lion population across Africa,” wrote sussexroyal, Harry and Meghan’s official Instagram account.
“As part of their commitment to this cause, Disney also made a donation to The Duke of Sussex’s upcoming environment and community initiative which will be formally announced this autumn.”
