Pippa Middleton, 35, and husband James Matthews, 43, welcomed their first child together on October 15th. They have reportedly named him Arthur Michael Williams.
The name ‘Michael’ may honour two of the couple’s family members: James’ brother, Michael Matthews, who died at 22 years of age while climbing Mount Everest in 1999; and Pippa’s father, who is also called Michael.
Arthur is the first cousin to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Just like the little royals, he was born at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London. The news of his birth came amidst Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s announcement that they are expecting a baby in the Spring of next year.
Just three days before little Arthur was born, Pippa and James were among the guests at Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.
