When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced their new son Archie to the world on 8th May, Meghan also had something new to debut: an upgraded engagement ring. But, with all eyes on Archie, the changes nearly went unnoticed.
The trio of diamonds on her engagement ring appears to have been reset to a thin micro-pave band. The original was a solid yellow gold band. The stunning sparkler, designed by Prince Harry himself, is made up of three diamonds, with one large stone in the centre and two smaller stones on either side.
The two stones are from his late mother Princess Diana’s personal collection, while the other is from Botswana, a country close to the royal couple’s hearts.
The Duchess has been a fan of delicate, minimalist jewellery, and the new band fits perfectly alongside her thinner Welsh gold wedding ring (a royal tradition) and her new eternity band, which she received as a gift from Harry for their first wedding anniversary back in May, which was spotted as she waved to the crowd at Trooping the Colour for the Queen’s birthday celebrations.
