It has been revealed that the shopkeeper who died earlier this morning in a tragic Marsa shop fire was due to get married in the coming weeks.
The incident occurred around 5am this morning at the Middel East Markets shop in Triq Ħal-Qormi in Marsa, with the shopkeeper believed to have been sleeping inside.
23-year-old Maged Saad Malak Eshak had been due to get married in the coming weeks, with shocked friends and residents noting his excitement at the airport's reopening because it meant he could travel to attend his wedding.
In a triple tragic blow, Maged's brother is also believed to have passed away in a fire.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at the time of writing.
