Local supermum Lorinda Mamo from @abirdwithafrenchfry has shared a beautiful tribute to husband Randolph on their wedding anniversary, commemorating their love despite having to spend the day apart.
“We have been together for 16 years, but it’s been 9 nine years since we walked down that isle,” she writes, adding that while things have been tough with their son Henry’s rare illness, “we, somehow keep pulling through. I also know that we created a wonderful little human that brings us so much joy.”
As they are forced to spend the day apart due to Henry’s medical treatment, Lorinda continues the post by drawing attention to the difficulties that have come with being medical parents.
Despite the hardship, she writes, “On days I feel we are complete polar opposites repelling each other with great force I stop and think what is actually making me feel that way- is it really because of us or because of the circumstance we are in. More often than not it is, in fact, the latter. Relationships are tough, marriage is tough, parenting is tough. On those tough days I think of what is really making me feel the way I do.”
“All but 1 out of 7 anniversaries have been spent in the hospital or apart from each other but like we have become accustomed to, you don’t have to wait for a particular day to celebrate,” she continues, concluding that “Today is a commemoration of love, unity and a reminder of how much crap we’ve pulled though, but EVERY DAY is a celebration.”
