Tattoo artist and beauty mogul Kat Von D is no traditional woman, and her wedding to Prayers musician Rafael Reyes (a.k.a. Leafar Seyer) over the weekend couldn’t have made this clearer.
The bride to be bucked every norm and chose a somewhat unorthodox colour for every aspect of her wedding, right down to her very own wedding dress, designed by Adolfo Sanchez.
The colour of the evening was blood red – tying in the goth-meets-burlesque-meets-pin-up look she’s widely known for. The theme of the wedding was “In life and death”.
A day before their wedding, Von D took to Instagram to share a photo of three red carnations, along with a long message to her fans.
“Red carnations are @prayers favourite flower, and the 3 represent him, me, and our sweet baby boy we are adding to our family,” she wrote. “Thank you all for all the love and for understanding that starting tomorrow, we will most likely be stepping away from our phones for a while to be as present as possible on such a beautiful day.”
The couple is expecting their first child together, who they plan to name Leafar, which is Reyes’ very own stage name and first name spelt backwards.
