Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still just settling into their new home at Frogmore House in Windsor, while patiently awaiting the arrival of their first child, they may soon be packing their bags again, it’s being reported.
According to the Sunday Times of London, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may move to Africa to focus on charity work and promoting Britain overseas.
The couple has a very special connection to the continent. In their first interview after announcing their engagement, Harry said, “I managed to persuade her to come join me in Botswana, and we camped out with each other under the stars.” It was also revealed that one of the diamonds on Meghan’s engagement ring was sourced from Botswana.
If they decide to make the move across the waters, the royal couple will follow in the footsteps of the Queen. As newlyweds, then-Princess Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, spent long stretches in Malta between 1949 and 1951. And now, Harry and Meghan’s move to Africa is being described as a “chance at their Malta moment”.
But obviously, they won’t be moving before the arrival of Baby Sussex, who is due any day now! The world can’t wait to meet you, little one.
