According to a recent Eurostat study, Maltese residents are among the happiest Europeans in terms of their personal relationships, scoring an impressive 8.6 out of 10. Sharing this top spot are Austrians and Slovenians, who reported the same high level of satisfaction.
The study, which surveyed Europeans about their personal relationships, found that the continent-wide average satisfaction was a respectable 7.8.
This figure, however, marks a slight decline from 2018, when the average was 7.9. Despite this small dip, Europeans overall remain quite content with their relationships.
On the lower end of the spectrum, Bulgarians expressed the least satisfaction, with an average score of 6.0. Following them were Croats at 7.2 and Greeks at 7.3. Interestingly, the study also revealed that women are generally more satisfied with their relationships than men, with averages of 7.9 and 7.8, respectively.
Age also played a role in relationship satisfaction. Young people aged 16-24 reported the highest satisfaction at 8.1, closely followed by those aged 25-34 at 8.0. In contrast, individuals aged 50-64 were the least satisfied, with a score of 7.7.
