Angelina Jolie filed for Divorce from husband Brad Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, while requesting physical custody of their six children.

The couple had reportedly not been seen together in months, and were last photographed at an event promoting their film By the Sea.

Brad Pitt was previously married to Jennifer Anniston, whom he divorced in 2005 after meeting Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith.

Hollywood’s golden couple are parting ways less than a year after the release of their second film together, By the Sea, which Jolie produced and directed.

This is Jolie’s third divorce, having previously been married to Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

The couple have six children together – Maddox, 15, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, Pax, 12 and eight year old twins, Knox and Vivienne.
