Ever heard of a babymoon? Well, what about a buddymoon? Or a manymoon? Honeymoons nowadays are taking on all sorts of shapes and sizes, and the terminology can be a little confusing. Let’s break it down.
Earlymoon
Think of an earlymoon as the honeymoon you have before the wedding. It’s a chance to relax, re-connect, and temporarily forget about the pressures of planning a wedding.
Babymoon
If you're pregnant and in a relationship, a babymoon is the couple’s last vacation together before their little one arrives.
Buddymoon
More and more couples are foregoing a solo vacation right after the honeymoon in favour of a group holiday with their closest friends – usually other couples.
Familymoon
And others still will bring along their whole family for the ride. As long as you and your new husband or wife still have enough quality time together – why not?
Minimoon
Some newlyweds either don’t have enough time or enough money (or both) for an extended trip after a wedding. A minimoon is a quick getaway that doesn’t have to be any less perfect or memorable than a traditional honeymoon.
Tinymoon
Not quite the same as a minimoon! A tinymoon is when you have a destination wedding and decide to spend a few more days in the city or area where you wed.
Maximoon
That couple who spent six months travelling the world and visiting exotic places (and posting envy-inducing snaps on social media) for their honeymoon.
Manymoon
Why have one holiday when you can have lots? Any holiday you take during the first year of marriage is considered part of the manymoon. You can never have enough travel time with your new partner-in-life, after all!
