5 Winter Wedding Invitation Ideas

There’s more to winter wedding invites than snowflakes and Christmas. Short of ideas? We’re here to help.

Gold details

Anything with a little bit of shimmer in it is winter-appropriate. Instead of an all-gold invite or bold gold lettering, opt for a bespoke invite that includes subtle hints of the colour in a creative way, such as a wrap, gold ribbon or even metallic envelopes.

Touches of Plaid

Few other patterns evoke a winter time feel as does plaid, and you can introduce it in subtle doses into your winter wedding invites, for instance as a border on the invitation or on the inside of the envelope.

Seasonal colours

Red and Green are everywhere at this time of year, and while you might have had enough of them around the house and in the shops, they’ll bring a festive touch with a wintery feel to your wedding stationery.

Shining stars

Particularly appropriate for an evening wedding, introduce a star theme either as a background print on the invitation, as an embossed detail or with sparkling star-shaped confetti inside the envelope. Guests will love the surprise once they break the seal.

Winter Foliage

While snowflakes may seem inappropriate with our climate, a winter-inspired tree or flower design will convey the message in an understated way – this winter berry hand-painted invite is on point.
