Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expanding their brood! News spread yesterday that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are going to be a family of four soon.

“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” a spokesperson for the royal couple said on Valentine’s Day. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

The black-and-white photo released was reportedly taken remotely by their long-time photographer friend, Misan Harriman, which featured them outdoors on the grass.

Their announcement also subtly paid tribute to Harry’s late mother, Lady Diana.  “It was exactly 37 years ago that Princess Diana shared with the world that she was pregnant with Prince Harry,” royal correspondent Omid Scobie tweeted, sharing snapshot of a newspaper clipping from Lady Di’s announcement.

Harry and Meghan are already parents to little Archie who will turn two in early May. Last November, in an opinion piece for the New York Times, Meghan revealed that in July 2020 she suffered a miscarriage. “I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second,” she shared at the time. We hope the Duchess has a smooth pregnancy and we can’t wait for another royal baby.
