There’s something about 1950s bridal style that gives it a timeless quality, much in the same way that Grace Kelly’s beauty and poise can only be described as classic. And these incredible vintage photos from her wedding in 1956 showcase these qualities to perfection.

In a post shared to Facebook on the occasion of Grace Kelly’s anniversary – 64 years on 19th April 2020! – the Academy Award winning actress stuns in a beautiful silk taffeta and antique Brussels rose point lace wedding dress which would go on to inspire the Duchess of Cambridge’s own gown in 2011.

In accordance with the law at the time, Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco had two wedding ceremonies: a civil affair in the palace on the previous day and a grand religious ceremony, which was watched by an estimated 30 million television viewers!

Her stunning wedding dress was designed for her by Hollywood designer Helen Rose and was a wedding present from MGM Studios.

Meanwhile, the bride’s six bridesmaids wore dresses designed by Priscilla of Boston. Aren’t they gorgeous?
