Nobody could have told Michela and Kieran that a seemingly average holiday aboard the MSC Preziosa would end with them meeting their soulmates…

The two fell in love whilst Michela was off on a graduation trip and Kieran – who is English – was on a ‘lads trip’.

They became inseparable soon after meeting, however, they first had to settle for a long-distance relationship, that is, until Kieran moved to Malta.

Michela and Kieran got engaged at the Parco Sempione in Milan and eventually got married on 18th June.

Their stunning ceremony took place at Birgu’s gorgeous San Lawrenz Parish Church. This was followed by a one-of-a-kind stylish ceremony at The Sheer Bastion.

Together, Michela and Kieran planned the entire wedding. One thing they were dead-set on from the get-go was having an “outdoor venue with a view” – hence why they chose Senglea’s Sheer Basion, the couple told OurWedding.mt.

“Our Pinterest board became a reality. Everything was exactly how we imagined it to be. We couldn’t believe that after years of planning our vision came to life”, Michela and Kieran continued.

Apart from having an extremely stylish wedding, the two also opted for some untraditional practices. This included transporting all their guests in boats from the church to the venue. That’s one fun way to arrive to a wedding reception!

Michela and Kieran also opted for somewhat untraditional desserts, going for a chocolate and vanilla cake instead of the traditional almond cake.

Apart from that, they also gave out personalised biscuits – baked by the bride herself – and some deliciously cool ‘Roll & Chill’ ice-creams.

Michela said she walked down the aisle wearing a dress she never imagined herself wearing.

Whilst she had always pictured herself in a mermaid dress on her big day, she surprised herself by opting for a gorgeous ball gown dress she simply couldn’t get her eyes off of.

The dress was named after her late grandmother, which made it even more special.

When it came to souvenirs, Michela an Kieran wanted to give away something that guests could make use of. For that very reason, they chose to give out Gozitan honey – delicious!

The big day went on as planned and both the couple and the guests enjoyed an unforgettable night.

When asked about their favourite part of the day, Michela and Kieran told us that it “was realising that our dream has finally become a reality” and “seeing all our friends and family celebrating with us was the best feeling ever”.

What an incredible day it must have been for Michela and Kieran!
