1. Meghan Markle & Prince Harry
This wedding had viewers watching from all over the world and was possibly the most anticipated wedding of 2018. Meghan and Harry tied the knot in May last year at St George’s Chapel and just a couple of months later announced they’re expecting a Baby Sussex, due any week now.
2. Kate Middleton & Prince William
In April 2011, Prince William married his long-time girlfriend, Catherine ‘Kate’ Middleton at Westminster Abbey. This couple broke royal tradition by each having a bestman, Prince Harry, and a maid of honour, Pippa Middleton respectively. The couple now share three adorable children together: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and little Prince Louis.
3. Sarah Ferguson & Prince Andrew
Back in July 1986, the Queen’s third child married Sarah Ferguson at Westminster Abbey. The couple share daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice together, although they sadly divorced in 1996.
4. Princess Sofia & Prince Carl Philip of Sweden
In June 2015, the Prince of Sweden and global heartthrob, Prince Carl of Sweden, married his sweetheart, Princess Sofia, at the Royal Palace. The two have since welcomed two boys, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel.
5. Princess Diana & Prince Charles
Princess Diana and Prince Charles got hitched in July 1981 at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. Their wedding was billed as a “fairytale wedding” and the “wedding of the century.” It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, though, because like his younger brother, Prince Charles and his bride divorced in 1996 after fifteen years of marriage.
6. Princess Eugenie & Jack Brooksbank
The most recent British royal wedding was held in October 2018. Princess Eugenie and her businessman hubby, Jack Brooksbank, got married in front of a number of famous faces at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
7. Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI of Spain
The then-Prince of Spain married his bride in May 2004. The wedding saw some 1200 guests including 36 royal houses. The couple went on to becoming King and Queen of Spain in 2014 following the abdication of King Juan Carlos, King Felipe’s father.
8. Princess Mary & Crowned Prince Frederik of Denmark
This royal couple’s wedding took place in May 2004 at the Copenhagen Cathedral. The pair actually met during the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Interestingly, the bride’s veil was her ‘something old,’ having been first used by Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden and then by her daughter Ingrid, Queen of Denmark, and her granddaughters Margrethe (Mary’s mother-in-law) and Anne-Marie. Quite the lineage!
