1. Not too tight
Getting married in the summer means sweat, though thankfully there should be quite a breeze if you get hitched on the beach. Still, go for something less structured and more easy-going to really get into the vibe.
2. A pop of blue
Who said you only need to wear white? Ok, tradition, the church, your mum and so on. But, that doesn’t mean you cannot let the force of your personality shine through, with these spots of blue colour on your gown. And, they will blend beautifully with your watery surroundings.
3. It’s all about the back
A watchful eye on the details is a must – whatever the wedding. But, a beach wedding, on the sand, might come with some restrictions in terms of materials and style. In these cases, the back of the dress becomes a more important feature which will have people talking.
4. With a bit of a train perhaps?
Don’t be afraid to go long on the beach. Yes, there may be a bit of seaweed but just make sure the designated area is as clean as could be and viola – dramatic style assured.
5. Though remember to keep it practical
You’re going to want to move, jump and dance and have a fab time. You can’t do that if you’re worrying about ruining your gown. So, keep it practical – and preferably inexpensive – by opting for something which lets you stretch and let your hair down.
6. Sequinned gold
The golden ochre of the sand, welcoming the turquoise waters, is always stunning. Your dress should pick out the best elements of what Mother Nature has to offer and gold sequins such as these reflect the sunlight and create a stunning reflection of your happiness on the day.
7. Keep an eye out for the silhouette
It’s not advisable to go all-out-ballgown if you’re having a wedding by the sea. The skirt is too full and can get unmanageable. Plus, you don’t want to spend the whole evening worrying about how to navigate the clunky material. Instead, choose a dress which makes the most of your natural silhouette – the wow factor will then be all yours.
8. And don’t forget your shades!
Don’t wear them at night though!
